I can’t stay 3 days without playing golf – IMEGA 2017 Winner
In this exclusive short interview with Daniel Pam, the winner of Ibadan Mesiogo Golf Tournament (IMEGA 2017) with VICTOR OJELABI, Daniel shared his pain and joy of playing and winning as a professional golf player. Excepts…
How does it feel to be the winner?
At the very moment, I feel great. I am happy that at the end of the day, all my hardwork finally paid off!
Are you a professional player Daniel?
Yes, I am. Daniel Pam is from Plateau State but I’m based in IBB International Golf Country Club, Abuja.
What does it take to be a pro?
It takes a lot of hardwork and dedication. You have to train continuously.
How long have you been playing golf?
I developed interest at the age of six, but then, I was always chased away. The adults were saying, “Go away small boy!” . But I was able to start playing at the age of 22years.
Does golf influence you in anyway?
Yeah, alot because golf is life.
When you’re not playing golf, what do you do?
Well, if I am not playing golf, it means I am doing other things. But I can’t stay three days without playing golf.
How do you see Ibadan Golf Club, as compared to others you have seen across the country and abroad?
I sincerely have to give it to the course keeper, he is doing a marvelous job. The course is green and well kept. And the standard measure up to ones I have had the opportunity of coming across.
Any word for the organisers of the tournament?
I really want to appreciate the organisers for this opportunity and I pray God continue to bless and enrich them as I look forward to next year’s edition.
Do you already have plans for what you would use the prize money for?
Not yet. For now, I don’t know until I am settled. I may call to inform when I do. (Laughed)
