2019: Southwest’s women, youths will vote for Buhari – Fayemi’s wife
The wife of the Ekiti state governor, Bisi Fayemi, has said women and youths in the southwest zone will vote for President Muhammadu Buhari and his running mate, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, in the February 16 presidential election.
Ms Fayemi said this in a statement issued on Sunday, January 20, in Ado-Ekiti by Funmi Ajala, her special assistant on media and publicity, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
According to the governor’s wife, the people of the south west zone, particularly women and youths, had realised that returning Buhari for another term guarantees four more years of progress and meaningful development for the nation.
She said: “We know that the southwest is ready for another level. We know what it means to know the road, so we are not ready to take the wrong direction.
“We are ready for the next level and fully prepared to move into it.”
She also said that the southwest zone had mobilised delegates from their respective states.
“We want to show our support for President Buhari and to let him know that in all the six states of the southwest, they can count on our votes in very significant numbers.
“Nigeria is going forward to the next level. We are not going backwards and we are here as women of the APC to say four more years of President Buhari and four more years of progress and development for our nation.”
Meanwhile, we earlier reported that Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka, the controversial Roman Catholic priest and spiritual director of Adoration Ministries Enugu, asked Nigerians to support President Buhari in order to continue the war against corruption.
Mbaka said the reason the Catholic Church created a prayer against bribery and corruption was because it supports the anti-corruption fight; and that he was supporting Buhari to complete another four years in office in order to complete the good work he already started.
